Updated: Sep 14, 2022

Are you ready to expand your range of motion, boost circulation, and lower your stress?

What is Thai Massage?

Thai massage utilizes the whole body. Instead of the traditional massage technique of laying on a table, Thai massage actually takes place on a floor mat so that the body has a greater range of motion. Thai massage leans more towards guided stretching and yoga than your traditional massage, which is incredibly helpful especially if you are looking to take home exercises from your treatment that you can do at home!

How does it work?

Person sitting on the floor cross legged with arms behind head. Therapist is standing behind them with their knee pressed into a pad in the seated person's back. Simultaneously, the therapist is opening the chest by pulling back the elbows.

By utilizing stretching techniques Thai massage helps to alleviate tension and improve range of motion over time. Unlike the usual assisted stretching techniques Thai massage offers deeper and more restorative results. During your appointment, the massage therapist will help to move and stretch your body into different restorative positions, so it is a more alert and interactive form of massage than your traditional table treatment.

What to expect from your appointment

Thai massage is a fully-clothed massage, so it is important to wear clothes that you feel comfortable stretching in. Think of it as a guided yoga session. The massage therapist will then help to find ways to re-align your body through different stretching techniques and positions.
